Chiseled Face - Bay Rum - Aftershave Splash
We've wanted to do a bay rum for years, but it took a while to get things the way we want.
This is a tropical bay rum - quite different than most bay rums on the market today - this one actually has a bit of a rum kick to it and is spiced up with ginger and lime to give it a lighter more tropical feel.
Contains the following notes:
Jamaican Rum - this accord is a blend of natural and artificial scent oils, and smells a lot like a traditional oak-aged spiced rum.
Bay leaves - not the ones from Mom's kitchen! This is 100% essential oils from the traditional west indie's bay leaf pimenta racemosa
Bergamot - Essential to a tropical bay rum scent, this gives a nice citrus kick that isn't too sweet. Bergamot is probably best known for giving earl grey tea it's distinctive flavour.
Lime - Gives a fresh kick to an otherwise somewhat dark scent
Clove - Every bay rum needs a bit of clove, though this one is understated and blends in rather than taking centre stage like clove will tend to if not reigned in.
Cinnamon - A bit of warm spice
Ginger - This kinda sets this apart from most bay rums. Initially, you get a nice strong hit of ginger which quickly mellows out to a more traditional dry down.
Black pepper - This grounds the scent nicely giving it a bunch more refinement.
Vanilla - for a nice mellow smoothness - it really ties things together.
100ml glass bottle.
Ingredients: Alcohol, Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera Juice, Fragrance, Calendula, Sodium Lactate, Menthol, Vitamin B5 Pro, Astaxanthin
I'm not overly fond of mentholated aftershaves, but thought I would give this Bay Rum a try because I like the Bay Rum scent. CF's version is quite nice. The lime is detectable along with the rum that they were shooting for. Interesting splash! Nicely done!
Smells great and feels refreshing.
I’ve tried a lot of the offerings from Chiseled Face and other companies, I think this is the best, but I like the smell of rum. It is reminiscent of the typical bay rum we all know, but it is elevated by some other complexities and it smells more of rum than bay. I like it because of the rum smell. It doesn’t burn much at all during application. I wouldn’t mind if there was a little more burn or if the scent hung around a little longer. I still think it’s great though.
Excellent! I already have Ghost Town Barber and Natural. Bay Rum is my favorite scent. Natural is good because you can put a lot on. I'm 53 years old and never used an after shave that feels as good as yours does. I use them even when I don't shave just for the face feel, great stuff!
This stuff is sooo good! Great mix and almost cologne-like longevity! Just want y’all now to do a Bay rum cologne. Please!
